This was absolutely yummy. Now that I'm older, I can't stand really sweet BBQ sauces and this one was perfect. The recipe comes from Southern Living All-Time Favorites, but is adapted for easier work. Mom used homemade chili sauce made by my sister in place of store bought.
4 pounds country-style pork ribs1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon celery seeeds
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 cups water
1/4 cup white vinegar
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 (12 oz) bottle chili sauce
1 medium onion, chopped
Combine all ingredients except pork in a container. Split ribs into serving pieces. Place ribs in 13x9 inch pan; pour sauce over ribs. Bake, uncovered at 350 F for 2 hours, basting about every 20 minutes.
You can cook at 300 F, but you will have to bake longer.
Next time I will try to take a photo before everybody digs in!
